Journey to Hope: Hope Ambassador Award
History
Journey to Hope Moose Jaw Inc. is made up of individuals in the community of Moose Jaw, Sk and surrounding areas who are members of the Survivors of Suicide Support Group or have been affected by a loss through suicide. Through our grief, we have come to realize the impact that suicide has in our lives and within our community, and feel the need to do our part to make a difference.
Our Mission is: To raise vital funds in support of suicide awareness and prevention, with the purpose being to promote;
- HOPE – to those who feel hopeless by sharing resiliency information and counselling resources
- HEALING – to the bereaved by offering grief information and support resources
- HONOURING – the memory of those who have died by suicide by reaching out to the hopeless and hurting
Criteria
- Must be a graduate in the current school year from any Prairie South School
- Community Involvement will be considered
- Must be enrolled in a Post-Secondary Program
- Specific Interest Area – Hope Ambassador (A student who is active in some way spreading hope)
- Other – Resilience and Financial need
Special Considerations
There are no special considerations for this scholarship
Required Documentation
- Must provide confirmation of enrolment in post-secondary education
- Must submit an essay on the topic “How I Spread Hope” (no more than 100 words; can be bullet points)
- Must submit a letter of recommendation from a Grad Coach, Guidance Counselor or School Administration.
